Transgender Rights Advocacy

In Kerala and Tamilnadu - Sensitizing the student community

The student community is a very vital community in our society. Sahodari relentlessly advocates for transgender equality and anti-discrimination among the student community. We have conducted many sensitization seminars and lectures in Tamilnadu and Kerala.

In Tamilnadu, we have conducted seminars/lectures on transgender rights issues in the following colleges

1. American College, Madurai
2. Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Youth Development, Sriperumbuthur
3. Ethiraj College, Chennai
4. MGR Janakiammal College, Chennai
5. Mohammad Sadhak College, Chennai
6. Madras Christian College, Chennai
7. Madras School of Social Work, Chennai

Sahodari does transgender rights advocacy work not only in Tamilnadu but also in Kerala as well. In Kerala, we have conducted seminars/lectures in the following colleges:

1. Farook College, Kozhikode
2. BCM College, Kottayam
3. Mahatma Gandhi University - School of Letters, Kottayam

Kalki had delivered lectures to hundreds of students on transgender rights in these institutions. She has also spoken among members of Dalit Students Movement, Christian Students movement and among some feminist groups as well.
