The Education Project

Abandoned from their biological families in their teenage, most transgender/intersex people in India are school drop outs . Poverty pushes them to do sex work and begging. In their pursuit for their daily bread, they miss the most valuable thing in their life - EDUCATION.

At Sahodari Foundation, we provide individual attention to young transgender people who had missed their education. Providing them the language training (English and Tamil), computer training (word processor in Tamil and English, communication education etc).

Try to help them one at a time and paying them complete attention helps them in developing their skills. The participation of the volunteers is very important in this project. Many volunteers offer their free time to train transgender people to develop their language and art skills.
